NavEd Network Buyer Terms
Version buyer-terms-2026-09-08-draft-2, dated September 8, 2026.
This is a draft. A lawyer has not reviewed it.
It is published in this state so that what you agreed to at signup points at real text instead of at nothing. The sections marked Still open below have no answer in it yet.
This is a working draft. No lawyer has reviewed it, and the sections marked Still open below have no answer in it.
It is published in this state so that the pointer stored on your order names real text you can read, on the date you bought.
When a reviewed version replaces this one, this version stays here at this address. What applied to your order does not change because we later wrote something better.
What you are buying
You are buying a course from the teacher who wrote it. She sets what it covers, what it costs and how it runs. NavEd hosts it and handles the payment. NavEd is not the teacher, and NavEd does not stand behind what any particular course contains.
The price on the course page is the price you pay. There is no NavEd account fee on top of it, and buying a course does not sign you up for anything that renews.
You keep what you paid for
The licence the teacher gives you is non-exclusive. She keeps her own work and may sell the same course elsewhere. What you have is the right to use it for your own family's learning, not to resell it or republish it.
If the teacher later stops selling the course, takes it down, or closes her listing, your access stays. A family is never cut off from something it already bought because somebody else changed their mind. The same holds if NavEd suspends a seller: her listing goes and what you bought stays.
You do not get a NavEd account
Buying does not create a login for you. After you pay we email you a link that lets your child set a password and sign in to the course. Your address is used to send you that link and the receipt. It is not turned into an account you have to manage.
Your child's sign-in is for the course she is enrolled in. The teacher can see what she needs in order to teach, and nothing about your child is sold or handed to anyone else.
The money, and who holds what
NavEd keeps 3 percent of the sale. The rest is the teacher's, and it reaches her on a 7 day rolling schedule through Stripe. Card processing is Stripe's charge and is separate from NavEd's 3 percent.
If you dispute a charge with your card issuer, the money comes back out of the teacher's earnings rather than out of NavEd's. That is worth knowing before you use a chargeback in place of asking. If something has gone wrong with a course, write to us first and a person will look at it.
Rating a course
You can rate a course you bought. Ratings are about the course, never about the teacher as a person. NavEd does not add them up into a score beside anyone's name and does not rank teachers. There is no leaderboard here and there is not going to be one.
Still open, and being written Still open
These are the parts of a buyer agreement that are not written yet. They are listed rather than filled in with wording nobody checked. If one of them matters to you before you buy, ask us and we will tell you where it stands.
Refunds: whether there is a window, how long it is, and what happens to access when a refund is given.
How long access lasts, and what happens to a course you bought if NavEd itself stops running the Network.
What you may do with the material offline, including printing, and sharing between siblings in one household.
Children's privacy: what is kept about a learner, for how long, and how a parent asks for it back or asks for it to be deleted.
Copyright complaints: how someone reports material they say is theirs, and what happens to a course while that is looked at.
Governing law, disputes, and how changes to these terms are notified to you.

Every version
Older versions stay at their own address. If you agreed to one of them, that is the one that describes what you agreed to.
