What is a NavEd Network listing?

A listing is a course you already built inside NavEd Lessons, opened up to families outside your own school. It is not a file upload. The unit you list is the same unit your own students work through: the readings, the videos, the assignments, and the order you put them in. You keep editing it in the same place you always did, and the listing follows those edits.

That is the difference worth understanding before you decide whether this fits what you made. If the thing you built is finished the moment someone downloads it, a document store suits it better. If the thing you built is a course a child works through over weeks, this is the shape that carries it.

Who is selling on the NavEd Network?

Teachers and school leaders who already built something for the students in front of them. Homeschool co-ops, Classical Conversations communities, microschools, university-model schools, classical Christian schools, hybrid schools, small private academies, and families teaching at home.

A parent who taught her own two children a year of chemistry has a course. So does a co-op that runs the same Tuesday morning writing class every autumn. The Network exists so the second co-op two hours away can take that class without anyone having to move house.

What happens after a family buys the course?

The child works through the course inside NavEd, in the same reader and the same assignment view a NavEd student already uses. Nothing gets emailed and nothing gets downloaded and lost.

You see who enrolled, where each student has got to, and what has been turned in. You grade the work. That is what a family is paying for when they enrol rather than buy a file: the person who wrote it is still there.

What does it cost to sell a course on NavEd?

Listing a course is free. NavEd keeps 3 percent of a sale and takes nothing when a course does not sell. There is no monthly fee for selling and no listing fee.

You set the price. NavEd does not set it, suggest one, or change it. Money reaches you through Stripe on a 7 day rolling payout schedule. A family can pay for a course without creating a NavEd login of their own.

Can you sell the same course somewhere else?

Yes. Selling on the Network is non-exclusive, and it says so in the seller terms you agree to. Keep your shop, keep your own site, keep teaching it in your co-op on Tuesdays, and list it here too.

If you later unlist the course, a family who already bought it keeps their access to it. That is also in the terms, and it is the part worth reading twice before you list anything.

Who owns the course and the records?

You do. The material is yours, the student records your school keeps are yours, and getting them back out of NavEd is free and always will be. Keeping records, taking attendance, enrolling a student and issuing a transcript are free on every NavEd plan, including the one that costs nothing.

What does a family actually get?

She buys her child a place in your course, taught by you, inside your own Workspace. Her child is created as a student of yours, with a sign-in of her own for your Workspace, and works through the unit the way your own students do. No copy of your course lands in anybody else's school account, because that is not what is being sold.

The buying parent never gets a NavEd login. Her email address is used to send her the sign-in details, her receipt, and anything about the order itself, and for nothing else. Her child's marks are not emailed to her: her child sees them on signing in, and a parent who wants to know more writes to you. If you later take the listing down, the families who already bought keep what they bought.
