The parent and student help guides for Clubs have been corrected. Both guides now accurately explain that canceling a club registration requires contacting the school — there is no self-service cancel button in the app. The parent guide also clarifies the difference between registrations made through your parent account and registrations submitted through the school's public signup link.
Release Notes
See what's new in NavEd. Product updates, new features, and improvements for micro school, co-op, and small school management.
The HOD transcript guides now accurately describe how transcript controls work — including the grade-level chip picker that lets you choose which years appear on a transcript, and Batch Mode that lets you download transcripts for multiple students as a single ZIP file.
Fixed a server error that could appear on the clubs page when navigating to it with a malformed or unrecognized school-year value in the URL. NavEd now falls back to the current school year gracefully instead of showing an error page.
Strengthened data isolation so club registrations submitted through the in-app flow are always stored under the correct school, preventing any possibility of data crossing between schools.
Fixed an error that prevented parents from updating their child's contact email address. Parents can now submit email change requests without encountering a server error.
Student account pages — grades, subjects, clubs, electives, attendance, and profiles — now handle incomplete account setups without showing an error. If your student account was created but never fully activated, NavEd will redirect you with a clear message instead of displaying a broken page.
Student enrollment applications are now protected against data leaks at the data-storage level. Application records — which include health history, allergies, medications, and emergency contact details — can only be saved to your school's private data area.
The clubs, electives, payments, and applications feature pages now include a short video showing each one in action — so you can see how NavEd handles sign-ups, enrollment, payments, and admissions before you sign up.
The monthly billing estimate on your school dashboard and the cost preview when changing plans now reflect only your active students — matching what you are actually charged. Previously, if any students were marked inactive, the estimate could appear higher than the real charge.
Teachers can no longer access or modify the gradebook for a subject they do not teach. A staff member attempting to open another teacher's gradebook will now receive an access-denied response instead of being allowed in.
When a parent or student who is already a member of your school visits a public club registration link, they now see a helpful prompt directing them to sign in and register through the school portal instead. This keeps your student records clean and prevents duplicate entries. An "other student" option lets parents still register someone who isn't currently enrolled.
Staff and admins can now link a confirmed guest registration directly to the matching enrolled student with one click. NavEd finds the match by name, links the student to the club, and removes the guest entry automatically — keeping your roster accurate without manual data entry.
Eight more feature pages now show a short video of the feature in action — including students, the student profile, subjects, reports, bulk import, the parent portal, schedules, and attendance — so you can see exactly how NavEd works before you sign up.
Every feature page now has a clear, side-by-side explanation paired with a visual preview — so wherever you land on our site, it's easy to see exactly what each NavEd feature does and how it helps your school.
Even more feature pages now have a clear, side-by-side explanation with a visual preview — including learning standards, the student profile hub, custom forms, the Atlas assistant, custom fields, and bulk operations — making it easier to understand what each one does for your school.
More feature pages now include a clear, side-by-side explanation with a visual preview — covering bulk student import, global search, academic year setup, school announcements, feedback, and student schedules — so it's easier to see what each one does for your school.
Feature pages now show a fuller, easier-to-read explanation of each feature right next to its demo video — so it's clearer what NavEd does and how it helps your school.
Feature pages can now include a short video showing the feature in action, starting with the Gradebook page.
Finding the year-end student promotion tool is now simpler and your menu is tidier. It has moved out of the main sidebar and onto your Academic Year Management page, right next to where you set up your school years. And when you're between school years — like over the summer — your dashboard now shows a friendly reminder to promote your students into the new year and finish getting set up.
The year-end promotion preview now flags any student whose new grade wouldn't match the grade on their application for the upcoming year — so incoming students like new kindergartners aren't moved up by mistake. You'll see them called out before you confirm, so you can review and adjust.
The year-end student promotion tool can now be safely re-run after an interruption. If the process stopped partway through, students who were already moved up are automatically skipped — so no student gets promoted twice.
Year-end student promotion is now available to school administrators. Move your entire student body up a grade at once, graduate your top grade, and hold any student who needs another year — all with a safety preview before any changes are written.
Internal improvements to how student grade levels are tracked across academic years. No change to what you see on transcripts.
